When most of the Amberites left for the war, Amber's wild childe was merely a 9 year old waif who had grown up in a troubled time under her father's fierce protection. For those who fought, it was a brief span -- just a couple of days. But when they returned, they discovered that a decade had passed in Amber.
Julian received the extra shock of finding that his little waif had sprouted into a charming young woman capable of turning more heads than he was comfortable with or happy about. And if he thought discipline had been an issue before, she was beyond hope now.
Trump Description:
Dapples of summer sun pierce the canopy of the giant tree, illuminating the petite young woman leaning over a thin tree branch as if it were a fence post. Her toes just reach the larger branch beneath her. Her left arm is folded along the rough barked branch, her cheek resting against her hand.
The other arm dangles freely over the branch, loosely grasping a set of panpipes. Her pale, wavy blonde hair swings freely in the same breeze that causes the leaves around her to dance.
Shadowed branches and dark green leaves crowd the edges of the Trump, framing its subject and contrasting with the girl's bright, colorful clothing. Loose, sheer sleeves are gathered just below her elbows, the cuffs stopping several inches short of her wrists. The translucent material is yellow, pink, blue, green and purple; an abstract meadow of summer flowers. The bodice of her shirt is done in a bright sky blue and fastens between her breasts with a small gold clasp. Her nearly bare shoulders and bare midriff are as well tanned as her arms. The short skirt, hemmed at an angle so the sides come up higher then the middle, is made of the same blue material as her bodice, overlaid at the hem by the same colorful material as her sleeves.
Oblivious to the height and the swaying of the branches overhead, the young woman gazes boldly out at her viewer, a mischievous gleam in her eyes an uncontainable smile gracing her lips.
