Lorius, Deadly Clown of Amber

(425 pt version)

"There are some arts that should never be practiced and some abuses your body can never forgive."
-Larissa to Percy while talking of Lorius

Suffering from perennial "short man syndrome", Lorius struts and frets across the stage, always ready with a sardonic remark, a jovial quip, and preferring to stand, always, head and foot above the crowd. His constant levitation is thought by most to be compensation for his small stature. They'd be surprised to learn that his time with Castor and Pollux has been well spent on honing his slender frame into something dangerous, and capable of withstanding the rigors of his Powers. Few, if any, suspect the lengths to which he has gone to compensate for his stature,in his pursuit of ultimate personal power. . .

This combination of Runes and Shape Shifting is forbidden even in the Courts of Chaos. By manipulating his internal bone structure andknotting his organs into obscene Runes, Lorius has turned himself into a Living Rune, able to generate Runic spells almost instantly through rapid shape shifting. The price he pays for this obscene--and outlawed--ability is servitude to the Lessimians, who prepared his body to accept the Runes and have built in certain...insurance policies.
Items/Shadows:
Lorius has become the ultimate item. Spell rack and spell all in one. He has no need of props.

Bad Stuff: + 1

Lorius as a Player in the Courts:

Current Objectives: Lorius sees this entire Omphalos invasion as a great opportunity; an opportunity to win big in the Family Game, solidifying his power base, and to show off, as well as to shake the shackles of the Lessimians.Using his wits, and his extensive connections with the most powerful of both courts, Lorius will seek to make his name as Amber's Sorcerer Extraordinaire, as well as set up his Lessimian masters for a rude awakening. The only thing standing in his way is finding a cure for their handiwork while not revealing his own abhorrent condition.

Constant Allies and Enemies:
Lorius is a friend to any who have real Power. He is plays the role of "big brother" to several of the younger generation of his cousins, helping them when he can, encouraging them to push themselves. . .for they may stumble across a cure. He often runs interference with his mother on the behalf of his sisters and Kyle. Kyle. The word is bile in his mouth. Amongst the youngsters, only he, and perhaps one other, stand a chance of upstaging him, something he cannot abide. Well, so long as they have their uses. . .

Lorius as Father: Any child of Lorius had better excel. . . but not too much. No, stay away from Daddy's turf. Begood, but not too good at everything you do, and you might have a greattime. Grow too tall, and you may become a bargaining chip for some darker forces. . .

Tips for Roleplaying Lorius: Do it big. Fly a lot. Don't let a snide remark pass unsaid. Help the less talented, as long as it's done in public, and you never, ever, forget that they owe you a favor.
