Jayson, Prince of Amber
-Doomed Scion of Corilaine (250 pt version)
- "...he was at a loss to describe Jayson except in terms of 'dead man walking'..."
- There May be a Price to Pay
- "The Prince of Coriliane stood on the edge of the tower opening, his back to the trapdoor. He was soaked to the bone from the rain which blew in as close to the edge as he was standing."
- Death in the Family
There is little fault to find in the countenance of Jayson. A fair face, a well-schooled manner, but the ageless green eyes tell a story that belies the smiles and charm of the man.
Too many things hidden, too many things gone wrong. Death. Loss. A few too many secrets from those who should have taken him into their confindences.
A man waiting to explode. Or burn down the world.
Current Objectives: Having just returned to Amber to find Invaders in Arden and betrayal in Rebma, Jayson is determined to clear away some of these obstacles so that he can settle down to his real objectives. Exposing the evil machinations still underway, of Oberon, his grandfather.

Tips for Playing Jayson
Jayson is mercurial. He could not be a better friend to have, for he has had few enough friends who did not actually want something from him. He is a deadly enemy.
He is stubborn in the face of any challenge, taking slight easily if his mood is wrong. His past haunts him, and the future is even darker, for it has been foretold that Jayson will be the crux of Kingdoms falling.
While he may come off as arrogant and unfeeling, this is far from the truth. For his maturing years are still ahead of him and he has been dealt many blows of fortune in his short life. Women have an easier time of this, for he is most appreciative of the fairer sex. He does not consider this a weakness, since he knows full well that he loves women in all their variations.
Because his relationships have often turned sour, or against him-- he will be quick to question percieved slights. Only a strong effort to mentor him may change his ways-- and at this point, who would he listen to?
Jayson as Father
Jayson would try to be the Father that would break all records for great fathers. He might succeed wonderfully, but would perhaps fail spectacularly.
While he would give his all to his children, he would not be of a mind to explain his dark moods, or even the causes. This would close off some understanding.
His children, if as sensitive as he, would soon find themselves in the same cycle of exuberance and distrust that trapped their father, Jayson.
If they were of a different bent, they might actually benefit greatly from Jayson being their Father, as he would lavish his attention on them when he was at his best. They would become world-wise to the real limits of their Father. Limits that Jayson can not see.
Jayson as a Player of the Family Games
From Jayson's point of view, the Family Game is something that has been around him since birth. Sand and Delwin kept their secrets, and moved their chess pieces constantly. He knows no other way.
Not that he has to like it.
Allies and Enemies: He has enemies everywhere, some he hasn't even met yet. It seems that just as he clears one situation, another rears its head. His personal life is a roller-coaster shambles of bright shining moments and deep dark troubles.
Perhaps this is why he treasures the inanimate ally of Nodonn's Circlet. A source of council that he can listen to without doubts.
