Astin's exotic looks are the visible signal to his exotic past. He is acknowledged the son of a goddess in his own Shadow of Felis. His height, good looks, and graceful bearing are impressive to any meeting him for the first time, but in his own world, he is the paragon of beauty.
Luckily, his spirit is as radiant as his physical beauty.
Current Objectives: Finally he is in Amber, investigating his other heritage. King Random seems wary of his relationship to the Family and the Pattern. After all, Amber genes do seem to dominate any crossing of blood, why should Astin be so different?

King Random is right. Astin does indeed have a potent combination of genetic material and power.
First, he has the pheromatic heritage of the Felians. A rich base of scent powers that pre-dispose members of the opposite sex towards the gentleman from Felis. Most men ignore it, most women are unaware of it, except to notice Astin immediately as soon as he enters a room.
Far from making Astin a cad or a rogue with women, he has adopted the Felian culture's celebration of womenkind. He loves them in all their permutations and designs. He has a bias towards them, evn as they have a bias towards him. As if they recognize that this man will never hold their hearts carelessly.
While he may come off as a ladies man, this is not seen as arrogant or unworthy where Astin hails from.
One drawback is his Broken Pattern. It has taken him to strange and dangerous places and he likes the challenge of it. Soon, perhaps, he will walk the Pattern of Amber--- and the Broken Pattern will be made whole.
Astin as Father
Astin expects to be a father someday, perhaps soon, perhaps not. He will take on the task with pleasure, as he tries to do with all challenges.
His children will be celebrated in Felis as demigods as well. He takes this as a responsibility that he must carefully watch.
He might be very demanding of their discipline and maturity. But he will try to be a fun father as well as a responsible one.
Astin as a Player of the Family Games
From Astin's point of view, the Family Game is something new and unknown. Politics in Felis is quite different.
It will take him a while to formulate a response to the harsh attitudes and secret motives of Amber. He doesn't like what he has seen so far.
Allies and Enemies: He has no enemies. And all women are his friends and allies until proven differently.
Perhaps Astin is the only happy Amberite.
