The character of mine which best represents the dodecahedron approach to life.
He's a jack of all trades sort of guy. He's had lots of time to pursue a variety of hobbies, interests, talents, and abilities.
Marcus started off hanging around the redheads, long before their plots began in motion. Plenty of time to learn magic, and then put it aside a bit to take up, much more recently, swordplay. Plenty of time to have adventures ranging from obtaining his multiformed weapon, the Myriad, to visiting odd shadows with Brand, and much more.
Marcus' interests include strategy games, fine wines and foods, having adventures out in shadow. He isn't particularly pugnacious, he's much more of a peacemaker, and did his very best to try and help keep Amber together. The falling out between Eric and Corwin is something he feels very badly about, since it tied and crossed his loyalties and likes up in knots. Following his mother's lead, he liked Corwin before he disappeared in shadow (warts, flaws and all), and while Eric tried to rule Amber, Marcus was a minor part of his 'administration'.
Now, at the end of the Patternfall War near, Marcus will soon return from his sojurn in Chaos back to the City of Amber. What he will do, and be asked to do, and what will happen remains to be seen. But it is certain that Marcus is going to be anything but bored.
For Marcus is part of Bridgette's aptly titled game AGE OF RETRIBUTION ... (Note that AOR has moved over to Bridgette's half of All-roads-lead.net)Thus, as time and inclination permit, I will be posting some of those stories and vignettes of my magician/warrior here.

Marcus sits at a long table in the castle library. He
is wearing a brass colored shirt, with long flowing
sleeves, almost robelike in quality. His lower half
cannot be seen, but what can be seen above, shows
this is not an exercise fanatic. Marcus' arms are
akimbo. A bronze ring is prominent on his right hand.
Blue eyes, as deep as his mother's, gaze intently at
you, but impersonally, as if you were but a variable
in an equation. His face shows only a slight pinkish
color. His nose is short and thin, with just enough
of a bulb to avoid being pointed. His hair is Russet
colored, and kept short. Marcus appears to be in his
early twenties and mass around 130 pounds.
In front of him, a fairly weighty tome is open. The pages are creamy white, the words just teasingly indecipherable. An inkwell lies to the right of the tome, open and ready for use. The accompaning quill is to the right of the tome. This library table is solid ironwood, painted black. By contrast, Marcus' chair is wrought iron. The metal is painted a leafy shade of green. The ornate carvings on the arms appear to be of ivy vines. Above Marcus' left shoulder is, floating, a glass globe. A fairly intense yellow light emanates from the globe, and illuminates the immediate area around Marcus. Behind Marcus, the back of the beautiful Amber Library is visible. Two more Long tables are visible before the end of the ground floor. On one of them, a Trump deck sits, alone. (Marcus and Dworkin both claim that it appeared during his portrait taking--which, if Marcus takes as an omen of some sort, he isn't saying). Most of the usual lanterns, both on ground floor and balcony, have been dimmed, so that Marcus' glowglobe is further highlighted. |
