The Fiona Affair

The Fiona Affair: Character Creation

Characters will be based on 150 points. Players are strongly urged to send their characters in advance, to give more playing time at the convention. Characters created at the convention (or pre-gens given to players at the Con) will be based on 135 points.

Character concepts are strongly recommended to focus in and around the Amber Royal Family. If a character is a crossbreed of some kind, then they would have been asked (and should have) sworn fealty to King Random.

Reasonable and plausible links to Princess Fiona are welcomed and encouraged.

Character Parentage can be up to the player within reason. I don't want a full slate of Fiona children, though. Strange stuff like children of Oberon or Dworkin will also require GM approval.

Although Player character concepts are important, a character cannot survive without powers! Powers available to a PC include:

Pattern, Shapeshifting, Logrus (if a crossbreed), Sorcery, Conjuration, Trump, Wayfare, Tempest.See the Powers page of this site for more information

Advanced Powers or other powers should be negotiated with the GM.

Please see the GM with any questions

Literary ties

One additional aspect of your character that I would like to know is a literary one. What fictional characters does your character have a strong affinity or antipathy towards? Was there a favorite novel or two that your character still reads today? Or perhaps even a movie? In submitting your character, please tell me about 1-3 fictional characters that your PC has this connection to. (Characters submitted should be easily googlable or well known). Submitting literary locations is also welcome.

Examples:

Percy, son of Deirdre was given a diet of the Mabinogion and Malory when he was young, and he still reads that genre today. He feels a strong affinity for both Taliesin, and the knights of the Round Table, especially his name sake, Percival.

Irina, daughter of Eric, was raised in a Slavic shadow and fell to reading and devouring a number of Russian novels. Her favorite character is Pierre Bezukhov from War and Peace, although she is well versed with other Russian novels of the period as well.

Diomedes, son of Brand, was raised in a Greco-Roman themed shadow. His very name comes from the Iliad, and he can recite the Iliad and Odyssey by heart, and is well versed with Ancient Greek and Roman literature. His favorite character is the tragic story of Patroclus, who helped rally the Greek forces at Troy when Achilles would not, but at the cost of his life.
