I'm a borderline heretic because I've never finished the series (I stopped after Trumps of Doom). It hasn't been a handicap since a great many games run as if the second set didn't exist... I've discovered that the 'rule books' are almost optional as well. Almost. Each GM puts their own twist on existing powers or add new ones and the literary world is full of inspiration. Nearly every fantasy/science fiction author (from Michael Moorcock and Charles de Lint to Andre Norton and Jack Chalker) have provided source material for characters, Shadows, powers and story lines.
The endless variety and flexibility is the crux of the game's appeal. |
My PBeM game began late in the summer of '99 with three players. The game is rolling right along... Brand has escaped, Deirdre isn't dead (in fact she's been kicking up her heels in Rebma) and we are easing into stage two -- where it all really begins for me because I get to introduce some of my most interesting people!

My characters... some of them are in active campaigns, some of them I bring out for Cons. This is their collection of campaigns, Trump descriptions, back-stories, etc.... |
